My name is Luis Camps and I am the Chaplain at Takoma Academy. But, what is a Chaplain? A friend of mine used to say that a Chaplain is in the business of prevention and rescue. We work with students to prevent them from going the wrong way and keep them as close to Jesus as possible We also work to rescue students that have somehow lost their faith, and through prayer, the study of the word of God and meaningful conversations, work to lead them back to their Savior. 

 

Some of the functions of the chaplaincy department at Takoma Academy are:

- To actively promote the whole wellbeing of our students, with emphasis on spirituality.

- Help our students bring everything into their spiritual realm.

- Deal with moral, ethical, and relationship issues as we find answers in the word of God.

- Some times all we can do is be a listening ear, a safe place where students can come and be heard without feeling judged. 

 

In short, we work with the very qualified team of parents, faculty and staff of Takoma

Academy to accomplish the most important task anyone could, lead your Precious child to the foot of the cross, and pray that while they are there, they may open their hearts to the Holy Spirit. Please partner with us in prayer as we work together in the business of prevention and rescue of these precious souls.
