STUDENT ACTIVITIES

DRAMA CLUB

The drama club serves as a creative outlet for students. During the year there will be small workshops covering acting, stage combat, improvisation, and more. Students will be participating in auditioning for parts. The Drama Club will present a play in the spring. All students who are interested are welcome to join the Drama Club!

 

HOSA

HOSA is a national student organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education (HSE) Division of ACTE. TA partners with Washington Adventist University to provide a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition for students who have interests in pursuing careers in health professions. 

 

THE ROBOTICS CLUB

The goal of the Robotics Club is to provide students within the school community the opportunity to engage in science and mathematical concepts through theconstruction, programming and development of robotic applications.

 

STEM CLUB (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) 

The STEM Club fosters an interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The STEM Club engages students in a variety of leadership activities and career exploration opportunities.

 

NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers)

- The Pre-College Initiative (PCI) program is designed to stimulate the interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields, or STEM. The goal is to encourage students in grades K–12 to attend college and pursue technical 

degrees. Our PCI program provides activities to help students discover firsthand how engineering and technology relate to the world around them and discover the excitement of academic excellence, leadership, technical development and teamwork.provides instruction and practice in the art of public speaking, with an emphasis on debate.  

 

CoED Intramural Sports- Fall- Volleyball; Spring-Soccer

 

Entrepreneurial Club

 Teach students how to make their own jobs, and generate their own income. Help students understand that they can achieve anything that they set their minds to! Connect local business and community leaders with students to build real small businesses in your area while promoting the spirit of innovation.Strengthen relationships with alumni and local business leaders.Enhance reputation for innovation and generate positive publicity.Promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic development among youth.

 

TA Ambassadors

TA Ambassadors represent the elite Takoma Academy on campus and off campus in various churches and schools across the region, serving as a mentor, conducting campus tours, assisting with TA 101 in the summer, and serving during Academy day and Open House sessions. TA Ambassadors will engage with both prospective and enrolled students, along with the Takoma Academy Administrative Core team. Selected TA Ambassadors must undergo a 3 session training after selection and prior to serving as an ambassador.
